Theft Report Yields Multiple Arrests

Benton City, WA - On 11/8/11, deputies responded to the General Store in Finley, Benton County, WA, to take a theft report of 5 propane tanks. While reviewing surveillance video, deputies were able to identify Kendall K. Nida (12/28/62) from Benton City, as the individual who took the propane tanks.
Subsequent followup located Nida in a trailer at 63805 North 43 PR NW in Benton City. A search warrant of the location located 3 of the missing propane tanks, as well as illicit drugs and paraphernalia. Mr. Nida was taken into custody and transported to the Benton County Justice Center where he was charged with Theft, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended 2nd degree and Malicious Mischief.
Through continuing their investigation, deputies developed a second suspect, Daniel R. Hansford (6/28/61) of 210605 East Perkins Road, Benton County, WA.
A search warrant of the property revealed the two remaining missing propane tanks. Mr. Hansford was arrested and transported to the Benton County Justice Center where he was charged with Possession of Stolen Property.
In addition to Mr. Hansford, Whitney M. Krom (1/13/66) and Edward M. Bold (11/13/81) both of Benton City were arrested on the Perkins Road property for unrelated warrants.
