SEATTLE — Last month, Irvin Garcia’s video of surprising his father with tickets to the Seahawks’ NFC Championship game went viral.
Now, Garcia has a Super Bowl-sized surprise in store. On Friday night, Garcia revealed Delta Air Lines provided Super Bowl LX tickets for him and his father, and covered their flights to attend the Seahawks vs. Patriots game on Sunday.
It all started with a heartfelt video in January.
A day that appeared to be enjoying the fandom from outside the stadium became a memory the family would never forget.
When the Seattle Seahawks first advanced to the NFC Championship game, Garcia quietly bought tickets. He told his father and his brother Betsaid they were just heading into Seattle to watch the game from a bar, something they had done before.
Standing outside Lumen Field on Jan. 25, his father realized what was happening.
“I just pointed the camera at him, and we were right outside of Lumen Field, and he just kind of took it in,” Garcia said. “And it was like, ‘Oh, we’re here. We’re really going to this game.’”
The surprise quickly went viral online. Viewers were drawn not only to the shock on Garcia’s father’s face, but also to his vulnerability. Garcia said his dad was moved to tears reading thousands of supportive comments.
In October 2025, Garcia’s father suffered a stroke. His father survived, but the road to recovery was tough as his father went through months of physical therapy. Some of that movement included throwing the football with his son.
“Part of our therapy was actually throwing a football around, just because, you know, that was something that we sort of bonded on,” Garcia said.
